Open Question: How do insurance companies handle large claims from auto accidents?

I was involved in a minor auto accident, and now the other driver is trying to sue me for much more than my insurance covers. I was going at absolute most 10 mph when my car hit the other car, so I believe any major injuries being involved is almost an impossibility. Not to mention the other driver's vehicle was significantly larger than mine, reducing the effect of the accident on him. But, the amount they are suing for seems utterly ridiculous. I did not realize it while it was happening, but my teeth were slowly being worn away and moved around because my jaw is not aligned correctly. I knew something was wrong, but I am the type to just live with it. Three different orthodontists and two dentists tell me that if I don't get braces for two years plus jaw surgery on my upper and lower jaw, and then braces again after that, then I'll lose most of my teeth eventually due to grinding and cavities. I have a decent job and great health insurance, but no Orthodontic services are covered except for dependents younger than 18 years old. What am I supposed to do? Can I petition the insurance company? I cannot nearly afford the procedures that I need. more

ok, a little long but think you need some background info: The relationship with my husbands mother and her partner has always been difficult, when I first met my now hubby we lived with them for two years during which time her partner used to spy on us through downstairs window and stand outside our door (something which had caused the breakdown of my hubbys previous relationship) but instead of blaming him, in short,mother in law decided it was my fault and made my life a living hell. When we finally could afford to move out and again when we got married she accused me of taking her son away from her. The nightmare is beginning again - I DO NOT trust her or her creepy partner to be around my baby when she is born. It's an understatement that we're in the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. Global climate change is an ever growing threat. Meanwhile, water shortages are happening in the West. I just graduated from college, and I still can't find a job (though I'm also a veteran.) Inflation is bursting at the seams, and gas prices aren't getting any cheaper. This is actually pretty scary considering the world is supposed to double in population within the next 50 years. As other countries increase their standard of living, they will consume more. Deforestation and desertification can't stay on the back burner forever. The Amazon Rain Forest is the lungs of the world. I try not to think what will happen when we consume all the world's resources. That's what I think this war in Iraq is really all about. I gather either more countries will pass birth control laws like China. Further, I suspect we will begin mandatory recycling across the board and be forced to cut back on consumption. This may be the only hope our children have for the human race to survive. It's hard not to imagine what would happen if the planet exceeded its carrying capacity. Thoughts like these make me wish I never majored in geography because I think the real problem we have is overpopulation rather than a deteriorating economy. So, does anyone else agree that the world is overpopulated? Does anybody believe we are about to reach a tipping point? Could this be what really happens in the year 2012? more

Open Question: Printing envelopes...major problem?

i am trying to print envelopes for invitations. The envelopes are 4" X 5.2" When i try to print them (one by one) in my cannon printer, either it gets jammed, crumpled, or comes out with a big ink stain on the edges. When it wants to (very rarely) will it come out the way i want to. What should i do? The size is such that when i try to feed it into my other printer (HP 842c), i can't get my hand all the way into the tray and if it DOES decide to come out, it is a mess (crumpled, ink stain, jammed). I usually print envelopes via word, and that way i can control how i feed them into my printer, BUT the size is so small, it wont allow me. please help! is there a software i can download (free)? any help is appreciated. i need them by tomorrow! more

I just switched to verizon. in doing so I went from a sprint katna to a verizon omnia. I like most of the features eccept the fax that it is 100 percent touch screen. I like the full key board. Then I found a i760. Its a step down from the omnia but it does have a key board. The major thing I don't like is that my phone will shut off all by itself and then tell me its off. I know this was wrong, but, I read my husband's e-mail and found a poem written by a girl that I know had a major thing for him. Open Question: What kind of depression or illness does this sound like?

Age: 19 I have had a very traumatic life. Lets just put it that way. I was diagnosed with major depression at a young age. I hear things that are not there, such as my name being called, arguing voices, voices that tell me to do bad things - like end my life cause Im not worth the air I breath - stuff like that. I feel as if Im being followed all the time. I am paranoid if a car follows me for more than few minutes, I freak out and try and lose them. I see figures every once in awhile, most of the time they are shadowy figures, and I can't make out there faces - Most of the time if I see them they are speaking to me. The voices scare me sometimes, they tell me if I talk about them then they will get made at me. If i make them mad they fill my head with horrible images, many things that I have never seen before and other images from my past that are horrible to see. I am beginning to have a hard time telling whats real and whats not. All of these symtoms are getting worse, in the beginning all I used to have was one voice that was my friend. But some of these new ones are very mean and they wont go away. I have tried to do a little research, and what I have come up with is PMD. But I could be very wrong. Please help. more

Family spends the 4th of July at the campgrounds

Mike and Jill Vinci of Lake City packed up their tents, grill, hammock and all the accessories for a week-long camping trip to the Fort De Soto campgrounds. They packed all the essentials and then some to make their stay at the park as comfortable and relaxing as possible.

Along with other members of the family, the Vincis are planning to spend eight days at the Pinellas County park.

Jill says the trip is a tradition that started in her family back in the 1960's when her father took the family to outings there. Now Jill is passing down the legacy to her grandchildren, who find it easy to pass the time fishing and swimming at the famous Fort De Soto Beach.

The family also plans to get their traditional holiday fireworks fix once the sun sets Friday evening. more
