Many drug users currently cooperate with social workers in exchange for benefits including subsidies and job opportunities, she said.
There is also about one such worker catering to every 50 drug addicts, Xia said.

At 3:40 a.m. June 2, St. Mary’s Sheriff Deputy S. Ruest responded to a residence in St. Inigoes for the report of a domestic disturbance.
Investigation revealed the victim and suspect were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated into a physical altercation.
The suspect, George R. Sams, 46, of St. Inigoes was arrested after an investigation by Dep. Ruest revealed Sams had struck the victim on her leg with his fist and foot, shoved her into a wall and twisted her arm.
Sams was transported to the Detention Center, charged with Assault Second Degree and incarcerated pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
